Starter box question???
Hello, I have done a search on this and have seen diff opinions on it. I have an Losi 8ight 1.0 that has a rotor start. I'm going to put a bump start on it for I think it is way easier to use.
I'm trying to figure out a good one to get. I have heard that the newer Losi boxes aren't all that bad anymore. Some people I've talked to say get the Ofna Chrome top box. Can anybody help or recommend How to start on this? Also would the new Losi truggy box, the one that comes with the rtr work on buggies? Thanks for any help. |

Its a pain to get set right. |
x2 on the ofna truggy box. I race buggy and truggy and put a screw in the box to make the slide stop so i can use one box for both.
and if you have the stock motor mount on right now you need to get the roller mount to work with the box http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...gine-Mount-Set |

So the losi or the ofna will work for a Losi 8ight buggy then? |
Go with the ofna 10244 starter box. Great starter box.

OK, now I know what box I'm getting. I found the back plate I need for the motor but what motor mount would be good to get?

Mmake sure you get a one piece mount. It not Bly makes pulling the engine a piece of cake t also protects the engine case from breaking due to chassis flex. These cars flex alot and can crack the engine case. I have seen it halon before. Either king headz or the losi one piece mount both are fine.

Could someone recommend a good motor mount? Right now I'm looking at a KH 2 piece mount or a losi 2 piece mount. Where can I get a good 1 piece mount? I can only find the 2 piece ones on A-main.
Thanks for any help. |

Thanks Frank, I seen that one on A-main but wasn't sure. They also have one that has an extended arm. What is the diff in the 2? I can see much except for the arm. They are both the same price on a-main. |

If you are running a buggy don't get the exteended mount it will take too much flex out of the chassis. Personally I like to run them in the truggys just my opinion. It makes the chassis stronger where the engine and clutch bell and spur gear are so there is not as much flex. The gears last longer that way. |
Thanks again Frank, More helpful info. Now I know what I need to get.
