Default Venom Pro Charger

Does anyone know if this charger has an auto setting for nimh. I read in another post that it does however I cant seem to figure it out on this charger.

If anyone has the ins and out of this charger it would be great. The instructions are useless.

Thanks in advance

what kind of auto setting are you looking for?

On the rc groups board you can find Venoms tech support. When i first got this charger i had alot of questions too.

From what they told me and what i could figure out on my own, just set the amps and leave everything as default and you will get a good peak charge all the time.

As far as the charge however, yes the instructions are bad. but between here and rcgroups board you will be able to get at least some help.

i got that charger...

First connect all charger wires and then plug the charger in.
Now charger is on, click menu till you get to the function you want. In this case Nimh.
Now once you have the proper function, click the increase or decrease to set the charge amp.
Now connect the battery to the charger. (you may have to connect the battery first then set the charge amp)
Click the start button once, screen should flash saying "confirm" and something.
Press start again and the charging should begin.

p.s. going off memory hope i'm not too far off, i'll check when i get off work.

Here's how you save your charge profile, makes things easy, not sure how many profiles you can save but I've got four in.

Press main menu till you get to program select save data
select a memory # using increase and decrease
hit start, select voltage using increase and decrease
hit start select mah using increase and decrease
hold start for 3 seconds to save.

To charge:
use main menu navigate to program select load data
hit start, select your memory # with increase and decrease
connect your Batt
it will do a polarity check if wrong you will get some beeps if correct nothing
hold start for three seconds to charge

I usually use a different charger for the gel cell, but I have charged with the venom at a two amp setting.

Also, you need to check another menu for the capacity cut-off. I recall it's the program menu and if it's turned on, and say you have a 3000ma battery and you left the cut-off set to 1700 from charging a receiver pack, you will not get a full charge on your battery.
