Sorry guys, I love my fuataba gear. I had this happen once and went to Nickle Metal and never again and it has been a year, all the guys I know run NIMH and do not have any troubles. I don't have any air holes in the RX box but I do run the white protective foam, it gets over 100 around hear and plenty humid. My only guess is it is the lipo issues.

Default Recievers

I have had it happen with lipo and NiMH. I cut and drilled the box on my losi till it looked like just a battery strap holding the reciever down. It still shut down at the Tri-state race in El Paso a while back. I saw guys running the 4pk with the "up-dated" recievers have the same problem. Went to the spektrum module and have no more problems. Still like the 3pk, just have to have spektrum in it.

Default futaba heat

I have been searching for a new transmitter and rx. this evening. After a little research I am leaning toward the new m11x. The only negative I have seen so far is the size & weight. Which I figure if I can't hold it for an hour I need to hit the gym. Has anyone had heat issues or binding problems with it.

Thumbs up

I just finished our whole race season with the futaba 3pm in a Losi 8t 1.0 ( yes I'm a low budget racer) and I loved it. My new nimh rx battery failed prematurely and it politely failsafed. I have reaced on hot days with no issues (about 32c tops, but have not modded anything for temp), no glitching. I can say that I have pitted for many spectrum users that end up missing a race because they are having binding issues. Futaba never has that, that I can see.

I do remember ( and I don't remember how I found out ) that I had to get A unit that was more recent than a certain serial number to avoid problems and so far golden!

it sounds to me like some guys are stuffing their regulator in the box. You really shouldn't do that as it creates a lot of heat. I have been running Futaba for 4 years 3PM for 3 years and 4PK for almost a full year with no problems. I also use Nimh batteries, have never tried lipo, but I just ordered a LiFe pack to try out.

11 is a great radio, put a lipo in it and the weight will not be a problem, unless one has a limp wrist.lol

No heat or bind issues. Like others have said, with a lipo pack the radio is substantially lighter.
