I search in the forum and found that it can be done but no one puts specifics so to accomplish this I know i have to put the mugen p/s but do i have to put the mugen rod or the os rod? I think is the os but i have to be sure!!

Mugen piston/sleeve rod if you want to keep the P/S matched, rods are the same.

A local guy has one at our track, and he runs it from time to time. It's insane, and has stupid power. Way to much for our track locally, but on bigger tracks I bet it would beast on anything out there.

why wouldnt you replace the ninja crank with the os speed crank? the ninja block is stronger cause its based off the 28 xz and is machined for flow for all five ports in the sleeve.

Thanks guys for the replys, well os power, it's more about money bc i have a new speed rod and the mugen p/s cost 112.00 in A Main so i can do break in w the old rod and when the break-in is complete put the new one. But you got me thinking about putting the speed crankshaft in the mugen engine!!

if your looking for smoother power that will do it, you will take away punch by putting the speed crank into the JX.

I agree that the Speed crank would give a smoother power curve and feel, but I don't think it takes away any punch or snap. The slugged/balanced Speed crank just puts the power down very smooth instead of a more raw power like that of the V-Spec that makes great power but is not always the smoothest.

Hi guys

been reading this thread and from above i take it you can run the mugen Ninja piston and sleeve in the os speed to get more power..... does every thing bolt up or do you need a special parts to make this happen, Also using the EB mods head button would give it more again ???? sorry for the Q&A's but neva heard of this before...

Just run the ninja P/S in the speed and you'll have more power. With EB's button you'll have even more.

IMO, putting the Ninja P/S into a Speed will not give more power, it will give a different type of power. I believe the fuel mileage would be comprimised as well. I'm really not sure why anyone needs or wants anymore power than what a Speed puts out in the first place. Again just my opinion.

If power is what you want put a speed piston and sleeve into a modded v spec, you will learn quickly how to detune a motor lol

I personally built a Speed with JX21 P/S/R and it has more power everywhere IMO. Basically, it has the same smooth Speed power delivery with more mid and top end. Works really good on medium & large tracks. If tuned properly, it will still get over ten minutes per tank.
