Default Need motor help please

Well after running a 21tm on my sons revo it finally let go after 1 year of running with 2 races left in the series, I desided to just get a 3.3 without the easy start and started to break it in. Well after 1 1/2 tanks the rod was so worn out it would run worth beans so i bought a davis diesel rod, I know what your going to say about the 3.3....lol my question is what is considered the front of the engine case, davis says to install the rod with the oil holes to the front (clutch end yes?) thanks for any help.

oil hole to the front towards carb...

so if you take the back plate off you do not want to see the hole.

hope this helps.

How did you breck it in? You have to do it the traxxas method other methods mostly cause the 3.3 to die a early death.

Good choice of rod!! My 5308 revos 3.3 rod lasted for about 10 tanks, went to the DD rod no problems. I dont recomen the traxxas breakin, im a believer in the breakin bible process!

Just make sure it is the rod and not the crank pin. I have been experiencing excessive and quick wear on my NR cranks. I do not know the tolerances on the 3.3. On my NR's it is 4.92mm - 4.96mm
