As mentioned earlier Grids (or similar small pin tire) are the best way to go. For me, second choice would be City Blocks or similar pattern.

Again, congrats goes out to Track Star drivers who are getting it done on the off-road scene as well as the on-road!

Jimmy Wright placed 2nd overall at the TQ Racing Winter Series Championship in the 1/12th scale class. It was a close battle for the top of the podium but bad luck hindered Jimmy's chances for the top spot. I tied in points for third but got fourth due to overall performance in the same class. In 17.5 Touring Car, I placed 2nd in the series.

In that case it will definately be Grids, possibly even Enduros. IMO

Track Star crew plans on heading out to ARC in Temecula on Saturday for some good ole fashion club racing. We will be bringing out the 2wd SC trucks and nitro buggies. Hope to see more locals who aren't attending the 3 day Nats warm-up race.

Product update:

NOW every bottle of PTRC Differential fluid is certified to be 100% accurate. We have found PTRC's Shock and Differential fluids to be the most consistent bottle after bottle silicone fluid available to date. Track Star R/C Racers Services uses PTRC exclusively in all of our in house race cars, and comes standard in all "built for customer" cars and trucks. Don't settle for unknown accuracy. The large names in fluids don't have certifications for accuaracy on their fluids. One manufacturers so called certification states its certified 100% pure silicone not that it's weight is accuarate.

Available through Track Star.

Default Trackstar goes endurance racing again!!!!!

Saturday, Trackstar fired up big blue and headed out to Huntington Beach Ca for the 2nd annual Surf City 700 enduro brought to you by O.C. circuit. The Trackstar team picked up a great sponser in AKA products for the event. The team consisted of Jimmy Wright, Pres Ilog, Gil Losi jr., Joel Johnson and Chris Vierra. The team knew what to expect from being the returning champions. This race is a test of Car, driver and crew. We qualified 4th overall after our pre race ritual{coldstone}. The race started and our strategy for the race was to gain laps with runtime. We were predicting 25-35min runs for our Trackstar prepped TB-03. Our strategy worked pretty well with Joel driving the first leg and making good time. We were up to third and then we had to restart the race at the 7min mark. This allowed us to make small changes to the car and restart the race. At the 20min mark Chris took control for his 20min leg and at that point we were 3rd overall. I handed the radio to Jimmy and he did a great job of putting the car in contention for the lead, after his leg Pres came up and did awesome! he put down real nice laps. Gil jr was next and what can you say but wow! Gil did his thing and made it look easy! About 1hr 40mins into the race we had a some issues with the car and we got it fixed and back out. We decided to try a different strategy with our batteries and it worked great! The guys were doing a great job of catching the leaders and putting in fast laps. At the 2hr mark we had a tire issue but quickly resolved the issue and the car was back on track. With 30 mins left the car started to have a connector issue and put us down some laps while trying to resolve. We got it fixed and came home in 6th place overall. Not a bad finish for all of the unexpected suprises! We had a blast, the car won the concourse and we have vowed to return in july with a totally different bullett. Thank you to my teamates for the chance to drive with you. Thank you to AKA products, Trackstarrc.com and big blue for getting us to the races! See you at the races! Chris

Default Track Star goes to the Fair

This Fathers day weekend will mark the second annual "Fathers Day Bash" at the San Diego County Fair in Del Mar California.

Masterminded and organized by DE Racing's Greg Metzger (Metzman on most R/C forums) this year will be off the hook once again. Four tracks this year including a 1/8th Off Road along with the 1/10 S/C, a 1/10 onroad/drift track in the semi-indoor rodeo arena and a dirt track and a rock pit for the crawlers outdoor.

Last year we drew in approx 1000 people per drive session and this year being that the theme of the fair is motorsports we look to have more people in the stands watching us put on our show. Along with the R/C goodies and cars we will have 1:1 racecars on display including Jonathan Elkins' Venom Gambler Pro Lite truck, Brandon Aymar's Class 1 buggy and more.

Along with the "racing" (starting at 11:00 on Sunday) we will have a booth with goodies from Tamiya, Axial and Venom. Also Chris Vierra, Jeff White, Pres Ilog and myself will be there for Q&A not only for the persons who are not (yet) involved with R/C but also for the hobbyists and racers who need help or have questions.

Stop by and say "Hello" if you are headed out the SD Fair this Sunday.
