I'll be there with bells on. Just converted my elec back to gas & rebuilt a couple dead motors,so might need a little help.

Work, rain, melted speedos & no money have kept me away for a while so hopefully I will enjoy life today, though I'm bringing the family so maybe not

Just got back from ARC and testing the 0801 pipe against my current monster.

More punch, more power and......... more run time

ARC's current layout is pretty fast with lap times. So having to be on the throttle quit a bit this was a good layout for testing as well as most of the track being dry and sandy.

We realized an average of 25 seconds better run time with the 0801 vs the 2041.

The real test will be during racing though we know we can already run near 11 minutes in buggy.

The 0801 is indeed a sweet pipe. Just wish they would make the same pipe/performance but with EFRA approval. Now that it's just FEMCA approved you can't run it in sanctioned events in Europe. How you compare the 0801 against 2072 or have you had time to compare yet ? To me 2072 offers slightly better top but lacks a bit in fuel efficiency (which is obvious)

That whole pipe approval is weird. The 0801 is FEMCA approved and on the IFMAR list but you can't run it in EFRA.

Here is the reason in the words of EFRA:

http://www.efra.ws/news/download/200...20Mufflers.pdf

The reason in a nut shell is that they are 2 chamber (strike one) and therefor too loud (strike two) for EFRA standards.

Still the best EFRA legal pipe I have run is the 2041.

To my understanding the 0801 is 3-chamber pipe. It was approved for 2008 worlds so it can't be 2 chamber so I thought it shouldn't be that far to get also EFRA approved

S852 tested with 0801 in A main race conditions tonite in a buggy.

10:00+ was no problem......

tons of power.....

8mm restrictor.....

no epa restriction...

Also raced was the Z852 with a 0801 pipe and it also ran very good! However we had problems with the truck itself and therefor our testing was cut short.

Thanks again for all of your help tonight Chris!

So how is it compared to Z852 ? Significantly more bottom but hows the top-end ? Did you vary the clutch setup or bell ?

Jimmy,

Both your truggy and buggy looked and sounded GREAT last night! There is no doubt that these engines are running with all the other high end engines, and getting the same, if not more fuel economy.

After my 7 minute quals, I was still sitting on a little over 1/4 tank of fuel in my buggy with the F850. Power was great, and was running down the back straight with a friend with his Nova Plus4. Still have a little tuning to do, and to try out the 0801 pipe. I still feel there is more power to unleash!

Thanks to Chris with his help last night also!
