Default Pre Oiled Air Filters.

Has anyone ever heard or even tried, using Marvel Mystery Oil as a pre-oil for their air filters? I was thinking about using it.

It doesn't matter what type of oil you use as long as you change it every 3000 miles.

Default too thin

Marvels oil is too thin to use on an air filter. You want something sticky, Use air filter oil that you can buy at your LHS.
It only costs about $4.00 a bottle and you can do several filters with one bottle. Or you could just buy a six-pack of new filters for around $6.00 and they will already be oiled for you. A lot quicker and cleaner. I myself put the old filters in an old Gatoraide bottle with a simple green/water solution and shake vigorously for a couple of days then I power flush the bottle with a garden spray nozzle. I then put the filters on a shop towel , fold the towel over the filters (kinda like a taco) then step on the filters to extract any water and grime left in the filters. I hang the filters on a string in the garage to dry. Once dry I oil the living shit out of them and they are ready for use again. It is a very simple process that I use and it saves me a little money. I have about 20 filter assemblies or so and I rotate them through the cleaning process. I sometimes will change air filters after each qualifier and after each warm up depending on the track conditions. My son and I can easily go through 8 to 10 filters in one weekend.

Guys go to your local motorcycle shop and get a quart for 10.00 it will last forever if all you use it for is rc. I use mine for several bikes and rc stuf and use a bottle each summer.

The losi pre oiled filters are some of the best I have ever used. I used to run the Jammin cars but used the losi filter setup because it was so good...

Default filter oil

+2 on pj1 spray on filter oil. I use this oil on all our motorcycle filters and rc filters. You do not want to run an expensive rc engine without using filter oil. Especially on a dry track.

the motorcycle filter in the bottle is soo much cheaper than a spray can. You should rub it in anyways so your hands will get oily either way. (but you can waste money if you want)
