Default What do you think of redcat RC

ive been watching a ton of redcat racing videos and been looking for another new Nitro offroad without having to spend alot of cash this time. Ive heard good things about redcat and was wondering what you guys thought. here is a link of there offroad's http://www.redcatracing.com/RC-Cars/...4Pa38Ta38PaNz0

ive noticed there prices are CHEAP so im guessing cheaply made? Breaks easy? let me know what you think. to me from the pictures they look like really good cars/trucks.

wondered because the redcat shockwave buggy is only 140 bucks. im wondering how Cheaply made it is.

To think, i got my Xray w/Novarossi for $100. Like imaxx says you get what you pay for...

I personally would stick with Xray, Losi, AE, Mugen, HB, OD. Save your money till you can afford a good car. Otherwise you'll be saving your money to buy parts(if the sell them) for the Redcat. Don't try to cut corners in this hobby if you expect to be successful.

If you keep an eye out you can sometimes pick up a used Savage around that price. Indestructible suckers and tons of parts, hop-ups, and support out there for them.

I recently purcahsed a budget 1:8 nitro buggy off ebay, cheap chinese like what your looking for, it was $230 Australian. Im new to the sport and I wanted to get a budget one to make sure I like it before committing to a good expensive one.

They buggy I got did what I wanted, proved to me I love it. It is cheap and everything about it is cheap. Plastic nuts, constatly leaking shockers etc. But if your just having fun in a park its good.

From what I can see the redcat are similar to BSD which is what I bought. If you buy it expecting the basics its fine but dont think your getting a kyosho or anything like that.

Mine is still running, had close to a gallon through it and motor has heaps of comp and is pretty durable, rolled it heaps and it never stalls etc.

Hope this helps, id go for it if you know what to expect.

Another rip off company that copies others work and reproduces it with very low quality materials. The you get a GREAT PRICE for a piece of CRAP

DO NOT BUY KNOCK OFFS!

I say you get a MGT 4.6 or 8.0 you should be able to find a used 1 of them around nice they are awesome. I got into racing with a highly modded 4.6. Monstergt.com they have their own website and are good trucks. Look around on there I am sure them guys will come up with something for you.

Redcat is the same as himoto, hsp and AFA it is cheap in price but also very cheap in quality .

I guess you get what you paid for .

When it comes to cars stick with the name brands they are more expensive yes but you can purchase parts ,get service and advice and warranty .It is better for your hard earned dollar.

Just my two sents worth .

The first real RC car I bought was the redcat onroad car (lightning or something). After replacing the motor and the esc, i stripped the spur gear. I tried to find a replacement part that could be shipped to me for under 30 dollars and it wasn't happening. I just went out and got a real car (HPI). This was 3 years ago, things may have changed, but I'd have to advise against redcat.

Default Aftershock

Redcat is in Arizona so I see them testing some new things and I will tell you the new Aftershock 8E is so cool. This thing is as fast or faster than any thing out there and they try to destroy the thing and it is very strong. This is a great car for the basher or any one that wants to have fun.
