Default Losi 8ight broken fly wheel?

I just picked up a losi 8ight-t the other day, broke the engine in, and all is good.

Today i went to start it and the flywheel spun freely. I thought i broke the engine at fist but after taking the motor out, i found that the flywheel was just spinning on the crankshaft.

This is making it really hard to get the screw out of the end of the cluch bell.

Anyone have any suggestions? Should i stick something in the exhaust port to stop the motor from spinning so i can unscrew the screw?

Stick a zip tie into the exhaust port and you should be able to fix it.

I've never had the crank spin while tightening the clutch nut, but it should. Just use a thick one so it doesn't get cut while your working.

Imaxx, exactly

I had a friend who had the same problem with his losi 8ight-T 2.0.
He's afraid to crank the flywheel down too hard because he doesn't want to deal with the hassle of getting it off later on. But I'd rather have it cranked down and never come loose, and I'll worry about getting the flywheel off when the time comes.

And trust me, when I do have to take the flywheel off, it's a B!%@H to get off.

I have a small gear puller I picked up at harbor freight for $5 that works great for pulling flywheels off. Crank the crap out of that flywheel nut, they either come loose 3 minutes after you fire the car up after spending all week working on it or in the last 5 minutes of a big race. Murphy's law is always there, especially for nitro guys.

i use a big pair of pliers and hold the flywheel and tighten the flywheel as hard as i can, if i need the flywheel off i just take the nut off and smack the back of the flywheel with a rubber mallet, works great

yeah, I bought a gear puller from advanced auto parts, that thing sucks balls. I also used a rubber mallet, it's worked the best so far, but it's still a pain to get it off. I always get it done, but it ain't ever easy! I've never had a flywheel come loose on me though!

Haven't had any personal experience with it but I know Axial makes a flywheel puller. Has anyone ever used it?
