I run the "old" XT8 (pre-2009 spec)

It is a great truck for a beginner- easy to work on, very tough, and very durable. Parts quality is absolutely second to none. Proprietary "Hudy Steel" in the drivetrain means the drivetrain parts last longer than ANY brand, period.

This truck is still very capable and competitive, MOST parts interchange with the new truck so you don't have to worry about availability, and it can be upgraded to the newer version at a later time.
