Changing gear ratios for different tracks...
I just seeing how many 1/8 drivers change their gearing for the different tracks they race at?

Overall I think its pretty rare but that doesnt mean its not a smart thing to do.
I run the RC8 and switch between a 16t and 17t but mainly to optimize my engine/pipe combo and then I leave it alone unless I feel like its a problem which is rare.
For instance I run a JX Ninja engine with a 2050 with a 17t bell because it makes enough bottom end I can pull the higher gear. When I ran the Ninja with the 2060 pipe I felt it needed the smaller 16t bell to give me the bottom end I needed for jumps coming off corners.

AE is geared different
most 1/8 scales use a 13t for normal tracks and 14 for bigger tracks

Imaxx is right the RC8 is geared differently. I dont know the internal ratios but its similar most truggies. 16t is the stock gearing. The RC8T uses a larger spur and smaller clutch bell to get the proper gearing for truggy wheels and tires.
