Default PBS or C hub

Im tryin to help somebody out and im stumped on a pbs or c hub question which is better. It seems like pbs is a little more up to date as in the mugens over some older jammin cars

Sorry chaserogers14 but this is at least the third time this exact same question has been asked in the last couple months. Do some digging, they are around here somewhere.

And for the record, I like pivot ball cars but I come from an onroad background so I am used to them.

I had pbs on my mugen & liked it for the most part but it had a few problems. I have one version or another of chub on most of my other cars & its easier to deal with without the few problems pbs has.Both are good or mugen wouldnt still use pbs & x-ray wouldnt use their particular version of the chub offshoot. I personally prefer pbs on my on road cars & chub on my offroad cars. Or the easy way was buy the ofna ultra worlds 2 from many,many years ago cuz it came with both styles in the box & you could switch back & forth till you decided what you liked better.Unfortunate part is no matter wich front end you used that car was not so good.

Ok you get popcorn,... I'll get the beer.

I wont comment on handling because thats all setup.

In my "opinion" the PBS system (I have owned one) is a good system. However when it comes to ease of maintaining,... the Hubs win hands down. Also consistency issues can arise with PBS suspension. When adjusting the ball ends and cups for proper movement after cleaning, how do you know when all the ball joints are of the same tightness, or if one gets gummed up what then. You need to keep these PBS's clean or they wont perform as well,... so ya.

For purposes of the question at hand,... 1 vote for Hubs

However I think the Losi "style" front end (used by both Xray & Losi) is the most efficient in both performance, maintenance, and better with durability.

..and yes searching is good... LOL!

C = certainly
H = helps
U = useless
B = buggies

or chub for short

seriously though I have ran PBS since i switched to the MBX5 Prospec some years ago prior to that I used C Hub and no matter how much thread lock i used i still lost the odd screw out the hub, yes you do get bump steer on the mugen have you seen how much droop the car comes with!! if the losi had that much droop the pistons would of detatched themselves already, maintaining the PBS is very easy also and im yet to suffer from dirt getting in the system i run them dry so theres nothing to attract dirt or dust and they hardly wear ever

its horses for courses really mugen with PBS but a GREAT car built around it or C Hub with equally great cars around them they all work check the results

I don't want either PBS or C hub.

Zero kingpin front suspension for the win!
