Default fuel issues

i'm new 2 off road r/c so i believed the crap the salesman told me during his sales pitch. he sold me fuel that was 20% nitro with only 9% lubrication & said this would be fine 4 buggies. well 1 crank, 1 piston head & 1 cylinder wall later i found out off someone who knows what they're talking about that the lack of lubrication caused the engine 2 overheat thus ceasing the engine. well the problem i have is this... someone else told me 2 add some castor oil 2 the fuel, so i went out & got some motorcross racing castor oil & brought the lubrication content up 2 about 15%. now i find that it makes the car run crap (that's when i can even get it started). it seems 2 me that the oil is overpowering the nitro & not combusting. so what i did was go & get the correct fuel & used that instead & the engine started no trouble at all. my question is this... what is the ideal fuel mix to run in a .28 engine? i have a lot of this dodgy fuel left so is their anyway of fixing the fuel? can it damage the engine? i have seen buggy fuel with up to 18% lube so i thought that mixing the other up to 15% lube would've worked o.k. what do u guys think?

Nice looking buggies you got there, I espically like the marlboro one because that was how I wanted to paint my first buggy body, kinda like that F1 car.

So did you get awnsers in what ever the other thread was? BTW most race fuels range in oil from 8-12%,9-11 being the most common. As you found too much oil is no good hence the more or less standard in race fuel %.
