Default Losi 8T 2.0

Has anyone tried using a 48t spur gear on their truggy? I have an extra one and wanted to know if it would be any different. Didn't the 8ight 1.0t run with 47t or something close to that?

8ight 1.0 had the 48t spur as standard and 47t was an option part.

I'd stick with the 50t to be honest, but that's me.

Unless you run a big motor (.24-.28) the 50T is much better. Even on a very long track I run 13/50 with a .21. The extra punch that you get on the bottom more than makes up for the tiny loss of top end which most .21's have in abundance anyway.

With that gearing, what clutch setup do you run? I run 13/48 now and 2 green/2 gold/2 maxlife aluminum/2 carbon, but my truggy doesnt have the grunt/punch to get over some of the jumps.

Well, I use fioroni clutches, but for a losi clutch 2 gold 2 green and 4 KHZ 7075 shoes would be my choice.

Great, I use Dynamite Maxlife shoes for aluminum instead, seem to wear a bit better.

Did you try Losi's lightened spur? It'll take a little rotating mass off the gear.

I have both 48t and 50t lightened spurs. Just wasn't sure if you could use it or not and if it would make a difference. I had an extra 48t laying around so i was curious. I'll probably just stay with the 50t. Does anyone have a pic or anything of how close the gear mesh is suppose to be on the 8t and 8b 2.0. I think that im either putting them to far apart or the chassis is really flexing. Im going through clutch bells. this is my 2nd one this season.

thanks for your tips guys!
