superb build quality, knife edge like handling, durable as a rock, and

biggest of it all. Comes with everything you need to tune, spings, sway bars, ETC.

+1 for Odonnell

Xray 808 09 Spec for sure. I think it has the best quality and design out of any of the cars I've ever drove. Just switched to it from the Losi 8 2.0

question for those of you providing opinions... have you guys actually owned and/or driven both cars or are you merely vouching for the one that you own?

The OD is a fine car but its hardly on the cutting edge of technology for current 1/8th scale buggies. And its kinda fat.

So I'd pick the 809. I did pick the 809.
reasons why I prefere the 809:
-lighter
-stronger plastic
-cutting edge tech like the direct link center driveshafts (less rotating weight) and Losi style zero kingpin front suspension
-extreme durability, best in class
-active diffs available
-great steering
-great suspension, shocks
-excellent metal quality throughout
- smooth diffs

Only cons to the Xray are:
-buy a Tonys screw kit and keep the Xray screws as spares. They aren't hexed very deep.
-use Mugen shock orings
- brakes are very effective but the linkage is oldfasioned. Xray needs to copy AE's linkage. You can make the linkage better by bending the lower bar and shimming it 1mm lower on the servo arm. Ae rotors improve braking, you just need to cut a little boe clearence in them. But the Ae rotors and harder Xray pad combo needs mre maintenence than the stock brakes.
-very sensitve to droop and ride height (may be a good thing if you can tune)
-needs Mugen/ RC8t style droop screws added

Those complaints are an easy fix.

i really cant give an opinion on the other cars as i have only owned one which is the z01bteam. but i am very pleased with mine as it has flat out taken a beating, if some of you can remember back to your first race, lol! another thing that is impressive is the support from the other odonnell team members.

Z01B Team FTW !!!!

The OD line of products is DURABLE. I never replaced any plastic on the original kit. On the team kit I have replaced a couple of front caster blocks due to a hard hits on the same piece of tubing that had a spike sticking up and hidden in a hole on the tubing at the Ohio Fair race. Up until that day I had yet to break a plastic part on the buggy. I have not broken anything on the Truggy except for the cast knuckle when I first built it. Steve O' has put out some quality stuff.

Oh, and did I mention how economical the OD line is ?

Default car

Dont sell your self short try the MBX-6 also. I just drove one and man the 6 is great, I have also driven the two cars you listed. I drive a Losi but my next car is a MBX-6. At the Nitro Pit it started out with 1 or 2 mbx-6s' and now there is over 20 it is that good. IMO

I own an 808, and can vouch for it till I'm blue in the face.

But I've also owned the following
Kyosho 777 sp2 WC
Losi 8ight
Xray XB8
Jammin X1CR

And I can say easily that the 808 is by far the best buggy I have ever raced. Not just driven, but actually raced! I've thrown it up against the likes of pretty much every make and style of 1/8th buggy and I can tell by how my car handles around the competition, they'd be better off if I raced an Odonnell, because I would'nt be as competitive.
