Hey,
I have had the worst luck with nitro and mainly have been sticking with electric (I have limited time for RC but making more of it) I have owned tmaxxs and revos in the past and I never could get them completely tuned right which caused me to never race. Are the new Losi 2.0rtrs easy to breakin/tune etc. Thanks for your help if your able.

From what I have seen with the truck, yes it is easy to do both. In fact a friend of mine bought one 2 weeks ago, broke it in, and TQ'd 3 out of 4 rounds at the pro series here last week. He didnt do a thing to the truck.

On my way to a Losi 2.0!
I know you're talking about the 8t which has the 454, but here's some feedback on the Losi 350. I would imagine the feedback would be the same/similar for the 454. Who makes the Losi RTR 350 engine?
It looks like a pretty solid engine, i hope a nitro newb like myself could tune it. Random, but does anyone have a burnd copy of that nitro basics DVD???LOL Thanks

It a pretty awesome engine for a beginner and shouldn't give to many problems. I am having to reseal the carb as from factory it has a slight air leak. I am sure most experienced RC racers would recommend sealing the motor and carb before running any engine to begin with anyways. Other then my air leak it has been awesome motor wise.
most new folks get in trouble because they 'tune' too much, too fast, too early, and get too married to a 'temperature'.
break the motor in, get it warm (200deg), go thru the cycles. go thru the pain of runnin it in. then when ur let it open it up. let it run at 200, and slowly work the main needle in. do NOT get married to a temperature. listen to the motor and how it punches, look for smoke (dependin on ur fuel and head shim combination (if ur goin to higher than 20% nitro)), and work from there. dont idle the engine thru tanks. most times the needles are set too rich from factory and it will not heat up enuff thus ur just 'wearing' the engine in.
be mindful w/the 350 and likely the 454, they have a ton of pinch. so heatin the motor up with a heat gun (great investment) and even loosening the plug on start is a probable event. stick with it b/c both of these engines are quite disturbingly good after their 1st gallon.

Just print out the Break in bible and tuning bible from the sticky, and you should be golden. I've got mine in a plastic folder to ensure it's safety.
I am a Mugenite. But my buddy bought the t rtr, and didnt do anything to it, and it is amazing right out of the box. I have been eyeing the buggy rtr myself, but dont need the radio gear. Just looking for some feedback on it, but if it is as good as the T, i think I may pick one up.

make sure u heat that motor up before you start it. especially in that 1st gallon. lotta stick on that 350. that and if u need to make a needle move make darn sure its already at operating temp, listen to it and it'll tell u what its doing. make small move and run at least 2laps before u make the call on if it helped or hurt.
