Ok i will stop blipping the throttle. But i was told to give about 1/4 throttle for first couple of tanks. And if it sounds lean i guess i will have to richen it up.

I wish I was talented enough to tell from your video if it was rich or lean, sorry, If JamminKrazy can't help you, nobody can ( at least via web)

I really couldn't tell from the vid. At some points it sounded slightly lean, but seemed like there was a good amont of smoke and it was definately four stroking some(good). As long as it is basically dripping oil from the pipe, you will be fine. IMO the richer the better for break in. You MUST keep temps around 200 using tin foil and even the head gun periodically if needed.

Ok thats cool. Im no where that talented either. I just dont want to ruin this engine. Ive been using the heat cycle method and right now im letting the engine cool. I just dont want to run it too lean or too rich.

I would but there is ABSOLUTELY no one around here that runs rc. It kind of sucks but at least i will get to talk to people at the track. Hey James, do you know Goomba_7? His name is Corey Hudson and he is a terrible as well. We race at the same track so hopefully he can help out.

I see you have Fastlane in your signature.
Chad is running vspecs now, he can help you out if he's there.

If not, look for Sonny O'. He has a lot of time with vspecs.

the factory settings on the vspec are very rich to begin with, and is ready for break in just use 20% nitro on breakin. or you could Just follow the booklet it came with.

From the video, I picked up this.

Your linkage isnt set correctly. What is happening is when you return the throttle trigger to idle/neutral, the linkage isn't set correctly so the carb is still open a bit. But when you brake the idle goes down. Use tin foil AND the 1/10 truck foam, the more heat and the richer the better for breakin. I did alot of mods so the engine would run at 225 but it was VERY rich. That's what you want for breakin. SO adjust your linkage so after you come back to idle the carb is fully closed, get a throttle return spring or ideally a rubber band/Ouchless hair band.

The engine sounds fine in the video. Pretty responsive and still blowing out smoke. What temps are you getting? I got confused on whether you have a temp gun or not. You can always do the spit test, put a little bit of water on the head and it should evaporate in a few seconds.
