Veteran racers have all told me that the only place ceramics are an improvement are in the engine and maybe the clutchbell...the rest of the car is just overkill as they still get dirty and stop working just as fast as $1 throw aways..if you plan to open and clean 25 bearings every 1/2-1 gallon you may see a slight improvement, but for me $25 compared to 6 hours of work just isn't worth it

Tko ceramics in the engine and the regular 1$ bearings in the rest of the car work!

+1.

Also, you have to take into account the fact that a full compliment of the newer, full ceramic bearings will run you more than the cost of a new buggy AND engine combined. The $1 Avid disposeables are hard to beat.

Boca Bearings has $1 bearings also and their full compliment ceramic 5x10s are awesome and will last gallons and gallons. If you are looking for other bearings besides ceramics I would recommend Boca's Green Seals, they lasted me a whole season with little maintence.

TKO Period!! Like others have said I would only use ceramics for engine and clutch bearings. Other than that it's not worth it to me. The cheapo $1 bearings are just fine for chassis bearings, and since they are cheap, you can change them often.

I question how much added longevity you can expect from these hybrid ceramic bearings. The cage and race are the same as the cheap bearings, only the balls are ceramic.

In my experience, it's not the balls that crap out in wheel/diff bearings, usually. It's the cage.

I'm just talking about added longevity, not performance.

I'm no expert but I would think that maybe the ceramic balls would cause less friction and less heat and might increase the life of the cage but that is just a guess

The Boca bearing Full Compliment 5x10's for clutch are awesome in that there is NO cage in them to break or wear out, all balls.
