I really think the next biggest thing will be self aligning bump steering. That way you will always track straight after hitting something hard. 3 channel radios will bring that heat....

That sounds a bit like the axle clutches from my old go kart days. Instead of the clutch being on the motor, it was built into the axle/hub/spur gear.
