Default 97t in a V-spec?

I've only used OS plugs in my V-specs and I read someware that the 97t/77t has a different "taper" and won't seal correctly in the V-spec. Did I read this wrong someware? I just want to know if it will work.

yes, I tried a search..

thanks.

Thanks for asking the question, Doug. I was wondering the same thing.

I use both. P3 and 97t. they both run great.
and this is purely my "feel" 97t/77t seems to have better bottom, while P3 gives better top.

P3 will be easier to tune, which is why most peeps run them

97t will allow for a much finer tune, and will run better because of it

ive been messing with rc's for about 18 years from off road to on road, helis and airplanes. ive tried several brands and different combos, as for odonnell vs. os ive not seen anything to indicate that you can get a "finer" tune with odonnell over os or that the engine runs better or worse. os however offers a broader range of plugs than odonnell and my reason for running os plugs is they seem to last a little better. but both are good plugs. as far as tuning an engine it really doesnt matter about which one you use if you cant tune an engine. ive seen people and done it myself, put in a used plug and make a motor puuurrr like a kitten and roar like a lion. so my advice is use which ever you prefer odonnell being cheaper than os and learn to tune your engine in any type of weather, elevation and so on as this has more effect than what type of plug you use. i see people every day spend hundreds of dollars and argue about this, that and that and this and all while they argue im beating them with a used hyper 7 rtr buggie lol. i run with mugen now that i got used and this past weekend won all 3 heats and the main so dont worry so much as what kind or what part as much as just how to tune and how to drive !!

+1

my tuning skill is slowly getting better. still not good enough to touch the mid needle.

OS plugs seem to run about 20degrees cooler too though.

life seems to be about same. so. i'll take $5 OD plugs over $10 OS plugs anyday.
