Default Bearing Seal Question

I was wondering if anyone knew which seal actually created a better seal on a ball bearing, between a rubber seal and metal seal. Thanks.

Rubber is the way to go for offroad. If you maintain your car well you can also get away with using bearings such as the Avid Bearings Revolutions. They have metal shield on one side, and rubber on the other. Just have to place the rubber side out :P
