Default torro nero vs ninja

I have been waiting to buy a engine for about a month now. I had my heart set on the ninja and was waiting for it to get in stock. It is. Having had the vspec i think it would be a good thing to try a nova since i have heard nothing but great things. O.S. not so much.

from what i understand the torro nero is a flat out wicked engine. I hear the ninja is as well.

both the same price. O.S. tunability vs nova quality.

I have a pipe for the ninja, not for the nova. (unless the a 086 or re11 will work, which i doubt)

I know i can't go wrong. And the torro might be to much in my buggy. But then again that entices me

Ok.

which pipe/plug for the torro? and how hard is it to tune?

which one drinks more nitro?

sorry for the questions. I posted this in other threads in hopes that it would get answered. So i did try.

As soon as i can finally make up my mind i can order and stop my ridiculously exhausting research.

thanx, and God bless

I'm pretty sure os makes the ninja. I think it's like a 5 port v spec.

Either motor will be a handfull in your buggy, I run the toro in my truggy and it absolutely screams. I would suggest the plus 4.

on what grounds? Experience, word of mouth? Guessing game. I am just curious. I have been looking long and hard at the toro nero as well, for truggy. The Ninja is out for me because of the amount of issues I see so many racers have. I liked them, they were very powerful and smooth, but too many people had persistent flameouts.

honestly i just want a stupid powerful engine. Racing is not that big a deal yet and i like to go to the track to have fun. I just want the most power i can get in a .21. I know it may not win as much as the plus 4, but to me winning is not everything. Having fun is.

I have heard nothing but good things about the plus 4 and i have heard nothing but good things about the ninja too. Actually this is the first bad thing i have heard about the ninja

can you tell me what you know about the torro and ninja?

how hard is the nova to tune?

Ohhh bad call on eliminating the speed engine. I absolutely love them. They are not for everybody as they are pricy but most racers who look at the speed vs a vspec choose the speed. The speed engine is a very high end vspec with all the bells and whistles. Its highly questionable as to why you went against the grain?

really i would get the speed. But i need a new throtle servo as well. And a couple upgrades for my mugen6.

so it's the speed and nothing else.

or the ninja + servo + aluminum axels and uni cups + tires and posibly a new body

but yeah the speed was my first choice. even the 400 dollar one i could get a servo and the ninja

I run the toro and it is not that hard to find a tune, it is touchy on which pipe, header and plug to use. i am running 97t plug, 9901 pipe and jp header, this combo works great to get alittle more bottom out of it, for buggy mybe try 9853 pipe, have not tried that pipe yet but have heard great results out of it. I am getting 11 min out of mine. I did run the 086 with it at first and the top end never seem to top out but the bottom seem alittle to soft for me!
I got about 4 gals on this and still rocks
