Are both the RC8RS and 8ight cabaple of winning the big events?

why not, arn't driving skills more important.

a racer with a high performance wehicle, and no driving skills will lose to a highly skilled racer with a low performance vehicle.

ill bet a great racer with a grasshopper can beat a novice with a high performance, hopped up, super tuned buggy.

Nice thanks for that, looks allot more technical that our local track, especially the slower sections. Our track has fast sections and faster sections LOL.

I am a Associated loyal fan and been running an RC8 for a long time but as far as $$$ and what you get for your $$$ you can not go wrong with the Losi RTR with the radio that comes with it and the starter box, just look at this way 250$ for the radio 100$ for the starter box thats 350 right there then the complete car for 300$ with servos not a bad deal!!

You're standing at the edge of a deep deep chasm, filled with things that will entice you to spend all of your and your kids savings.

Kiss their college years goodbye...

I bought the RC8RS. Then a used bump (30 bucks). then a complete RC8t (used, but in good shape). and now a RC8t roller and a ton of parts (enough crossover stuff to keep both on the track for a while).

Essential things to swap out as soon as possible:

Front top plate. Get rid of the plastic...
Fuel tank (dump the POS Asc tank. I've gone through 4 now. the HB D8 is nearly a direct drop in).
Only use the stock tires to hold the chassis up off your work bench. I've tried them at several tracks and won't hold a line, even when run wet...
Don't trust the setup out of the box. Camber and toe can make or break your first time out.

Even with those few things, I'd still purchase another RC8 before anything Losi...

Losi is the best RTR out - period - people can try to find problems but EVERYTHING has problems even pro kits - - - -
