So just to update you all on what happened. I gave up on the pull start, and went and bought myself a Starter box today. It sure was pricey (200 bucks aussie!!!) but when i used it to start the hyper 7 it was the ducks nuts.

Really glad I went with the box. The lead acid battery i got with it is heavy as bastard but still... not really an issue for me.
