It depends on what you are looking for and what your price range is. I use a suitcase style compressor that you can get from harbor freight or home depot for under $100. They are not to expensive, small and easy to move around, and are great for cleaning off your rigs. Mine peaks at 135 psi and has a 1.75 gallon tank. It also has a place to keep all of your attachments so you don't have to store them elsewhere. It works for me and quite a few others that use it at the track on race days.

i rock the Porter Cable 6 gallon 150 PSI...imo anything less is a little underpower'd.....ive used some compressors at the track that honestly you could blow harder from your mouth...and then took 15 min to fill up. complete waste of time and effort to even bring it to the track.

I use a 12V car compressor (for inflating 4wd tyres)... the better ones (I'm talking $250) get a good flow going so u don't need a reservoir tank like a workshop compressor. Use a football inflating fitting on the hose and you get a really fine jet of air.

This setup works better tha my workshop compressor!!

I bought the bigger Porter Cable - 12gal tank, twin cylinder. I need it to run my air tools and sandblaster. I've got a portable tank (125psi) that I fill up to take with me instead of trying to haul the compressor.

I have the Porter Cable one also. Its a big upgrade from the 2 gallon mini one I used to have. It was absolutely one of the best purchases I made this year.

I think a good air blower nozzle is even more important than the compressor. I use an unregulated Blue Point one I got from the Snap on man.

+1 this is what i use its perfect. But i also carry a 4.5 gal holding tank and hook it up to my compressor to hold more air.
