Default losi 454 .28 tuning

Has anyone been having issues with this motor or is mine just junk. Will not tune out. Brand new the front bearing was leaking fixed that and have sealed everything up still no luck.

The ones I have seen have ran great. Several were used at the nationals to get withing the top 40. These were bone stock. I have seen several through the speed shop either the 350's or 454's and the seem to do well. I actually have considered using them.

I'll be glad to check it out for you, just send it to me.

Thanks alan, seem to have pretty close now but seems real sensitive to adjustments. BTW what kind of run time do they seem to be getting. It is 8port with 9.5 mm carb can't be good?

Mine tuned really easy and runs great with lots of power. but my run time is not good. 6 min moto and I will have to pit or run out of fuel. I'm looking for a .21 to go in it just to improve my run times.

dude I just seen where you are from. that is where I was born back in 63.

i got that motor on my 8ight t 2.0 and i pit twice in a 20 minute main i know thats pushing it but the motor didnt get above 260f i had alot of carb issuses then i said he!! with it and i stuck a mach .26 carb on it and it runs awsome. there 30 bucks. you should consider picking one up. +s are brass fuel inlet. steel cable hook up. disadvantage, its only 8mm. but thats really all you need. that motor has sick power

The one I speak of from the nationals ran 230 degrees, had a stock carb and with a truggy he got real good runtime. We never had to press the issue because of 5 minute quals but he ran 5 mniutes and had a lot left.

One thing to remember and I talked to The Drake about this....

With the stock pipe that comes with the rtr's it will run hot and just be a fair running engine. POwer, runtime, temp will all suffer.

Try runnnig the losi re11 pipe. Better power, runtime and temps will drop.

Thanks for all the replies, My thoughts exactly about pipe and carb cause the motor does have amazing power. Does anyone what other carb will fit I beleive the barrel is 12mm?

I had been having some issues with my losi 350, but i seem to be getting a handle on it. they are very touchy when it comes to tuning, a little goes a long way. mileage doesn't seem to be great, but i still have the stock pipe on it.
my main issue is that it isn't restarting when it flames out or runs out of fuel. i thought i might have gotten it figures out today but my receiver pack dumped after my last adjustment, so i'm not sure. i think my botom end was amazingly fat and loading up the case with fuel when it died.
it does have great power though.

when i pitted for diarh34 he flamed out twice and it took me at least 45 seconds to restart him.

it does seem to have to sit before it comes back to life. but then when my does, its all kinds of loaded up and i have to get it cleaned out before it will stay running again.

has anyone tried any other pipes. i was thinking of getting the losi re11 but was wondering how well other pipes worked. maybe a jp-3 or dynamite 086.

the 2 has more bottom end. the 3 is a bottom-mid pipe, the 4 is a mid to top and the 6 is just a top end pipe
