Default piston and sleeve assembly

just tore down my mach 28 for an inspection. The engine has seen a few gallons so its no dout lost compression and the piston is stained with a bronze and brown colour. when attempting to remove the sleeve I found it really difficult. Trying to put the sleeve and piston back in is almost inposible. Is this normal ? Was wondering if the sleeve has been damged or even the block itself.
Any feedback or comments would be great, Thanks

Try putting some after run oil around the sleeve, then sliding it in. Also like Brad said, make sure the notch in the sleeve is lined up with the notch in the case.
