Reciever Question

  • Hello All,

I am looking at upgrading my radio and receiver very soon to one of those FM type radio's. The one I am looking at comes with a much smaller receiver.

The current receiver in my BS802T 1/8 buggy is allot larger and has a special plastic compartment and lid that is closed by an r-clip.

If I get this new radio and receiver what is the best way of securing the receiver into the box, considering that new smaller reciever will have allot of room to move around in current box?
  • fill in the open areas with some dense foam
  • Ok ill give it a try, do you think bubble wrap will work or does it get too hot in there for this?
  • Lolz, yup, bubble wrap will work.

What radio is it? the RX deosn't produce much heat.
  • I've even used my sister's makeup foam which is triangle shaped.

The radio I want to get is the DX 2.0 DSM Spectrum, the one I have non is not branded and uses the crystals.

Spectrum has pretty tough RX's. They aren't going to heat up or have heat prblems most likely. Especially if you aren't runnning a Lipo regulator.

I'd strongly recommend going one step higher on radios to the Spektrum DX3S or DX3R.
  • You said you were changing to a fm radio system. The dx2 is not fm. Its dsm.
  • DX3S is your best bet
  • DX3S any idea what that retails for?

I dont know much about radio's or receiver's im just starting out. I thought the spectrum type kits were all FM.

What would the DX3S have over the 2.0?
