Default Worth it? (8T truggy For Sale)

I was wondering if this was a good deal, Losi 8T truggy, body and wing have a wrap on it, 1 or 2 new sets of city blocks, 1 new set of i beam, 1 new set of panther switch 2.0, 1 new set of the stockers, and 1 2 run old set of city blocks. Also, JR 9100T steering servo, Futaba S9451 throttle, JP3 pipe, KH quick change motor mount. Some spare arms, shock springs, sway bars, and 2 different size clutch bells for $485. Originally, he was going to sell me all his 1/8 8 B and T parts like clutchshoes, springs, flywheels, tons of bearings, BNIP parts, etc., a Orion Wasp .21 engine with 8 tanks on it, and an Ofna Truggy Starter box with a lipo for the same price!

Then he seen how much in parts he had and how much it was worth. I would swap the Orion engine for the AKA and Panther tires if I wanted to.

Looks like a nice truck, but you never really know what your getting when you buy used stuff. You could get the 2.0 RTR for less than that. But that truck does have better equipment.

At first it was 485 then he seen all the parts he has, he said he wants about 700-800 for it.

Not for $800, but maybe for $650.

Having said that, I have been told the difference between 1.0 and 2.0 Losis is pretty significant. Don't know first hand because I have only ever driven the 2.0. Assuming this is true, you are buying into older, used technology at a pretty steep price. I have seen a number of used Losi 2.0 buggy rollers in the FS thread for ~$350.

For the $300 difference, I'm sure you could buy used or new components to get close to the $650 - so I would say it is probably not worth it.

[EDIT]Sorry just realized that this discussion was for a Truggy. Most of what I said is still true. Truggys are a little more expensive, but there is no reason you shouldn't be able to get a used one for $400-$450 or so (except that supply is surprisingly low).[/EDIT]

For $800 I would be getting a couple hundred dollars in NIP spares, ofna truggy box with lipo, lipo rx pack, bascially everything needed to run besdies radio and receiver. Im not going to buy it though, just wanted to see if it was worth $485, if ANYONE would of read my first paragraph!

I sold a 8T 1.0 roller (no engine, no servos) with every upgrade part you could imagine 5 sets of tires in descent shape 2 bodies and a new flex tuned chassis (ran 2x) for 250 back in March right before the 2.0 came out. IDK if that helps or not.

dude a-main had them brand new when the 2.0 came out for 250 so chris 800 is still too steep

Read this from my first paragraph, "I was wondering if this was a good deal, Losi 8T truggy, body and wing have a wrap on it, 1 or 2 new sets of city blocks, 1 new set of i beam, 1 new set of panther switch 2.0, 1 new set of the stockers, and 1 2 run old set of city blocks. So, to my original question, I am guessing it is a bad deal for $485 right? Well, I didnt buy it.

I really have NO idea where everyone got $800 from, I never even mentioned $800 in my first post then when everyone replied they said it isnt worth 800, that is when I commented about it.

I would not buy a 1.0 AT ALL!!!!! The difference between a 1.0 and 2.0 is night and day. For 350-400 you can get a nice 2.0 used of course. In the long run it would be more worth it to be up to date. You buy a 1.0 you are already behind on the tech curve and getting further and further by the day.

I bought a 1.0 a few months ago before the 1.0 for $400 with that many tires and spare parts 5 bodies. it was enough spare parts to rebuild it 3x's

If your set on buying it tell him $400 for the truck tries and parts. forget that engine you can buy your own. If he does not take the deal walk away and get yourself a 2.0.

On further thought I relooked at the deal.

1.0 losi T used $200
JR 9100 T new $140
Futaba servo $100 I think
transponder $125 new
3 sets of new mounted truggy tires about $240
parts $200

If you get all of the above for $500 its a descent deal. Sell the truggy and parts and get you a 2.0. He can keep the engine new or not. with engine $600 its all used it 50 cents on the dollar basically for used stuff. especially an engine. just broke in means under a gallon. 1-2 gallons means I lost count after 2 and more like 3 1/2.

Transponder is not included. To tell you the truth, I just wanted to try the 1.0 truggy out to see how I like truggies. My track is big, rough with very big jumps and no tight turns (Thunder Alley) so it is naturally a truggy track.

its worth 450 and then id ad however much that engines worth. i didnt see what it had. looks good tho. the 1.0 is comparable to any truggy xept the losi 2.0 and the mugen 6. and the 1.0 is hard to come by anymore. so if your looking for a good deal for a competition truggy the 1.0 will get you there. but within a year of now id be banking up for a 2.0

id say 650 or 700 tops. buying used online can yeild terrible results. if it were in front of you and looks good and gone through maybe 750 but 800 too much.
