...Anyone ever dye their AKA rims......I have a set of whites that i want to dye black.....will they take the dye???......... "AKA uses a high-quality modified nylon thatís specially blended and refined by the designersí decades of racing experience."..that quote from their website.....i would assume?? they would take the dye since they're a "nylon".......anyone know before i make purple rims.......

O yes dye them I have had blue ones pink red green any white parts
will take dye that is an old school trick from the rc10 gold pan days
or befor the only thin is that the color only penetrates so far in to the
plastic so in a crash it may dig in to it and the white will show thru it's a fun way to mix it up

Rit dye is the best.

the longer you let them soak, the better they will come out

Anyone know of a florescent green or yellow dye? I've used other colors of Rit but haven't found any green or yellow like the color of the yellow or green rims you can buy.

yeah,

kinda condescending if you ask me. Good way to welcome someone into the hobby. By making fun of what color they want their rims to be.

while I don't agree with the method of putting down black rims that was employed, I will say that it's harder to know what your car is doing with black rims. Like when your wheels lock up, which locks up first , the front or backs. some people even like to put dots or tape on their rims to help them figure out how to dial their breaks.

I personally like to take a sharpie marker and color in the aka logo on my rims so I have a visual reference of what my front and rear breaks are doing during a race and when I go into corners.
