Default Which is better: Afterrun oil or WD40?

For use in afterrun oil in your engine, which would work better, or would they both be the same? I'd assume they'd be the same because the AR oil just needs to prevent rust and displace water, which both do well. So which is better and why?

And on a side note, is it a good idea to put AR oil in the carb?

Really, why? And do you put it in the carb as well as the glow plug hole? I've heard it can mess ur carb up.

Marvells mystery oil can be found at any hardware store & a 5 dollar can will last you a life time. You should not use anything with silicon oil in it, it will react with the nitro.

Oh. I usually use Hobbico AR oil. I only ask because my friend has been using WD40 in his engine for a little over a year now and has not really had any problems. I have a huge can of WD40 and am just about out of AR oil and I'm wondering if its a good idea to go out and buy more.

And any word on putting it in the carb?

Used WD40 earlier, no problems and no rust.
Someone told me that WD40 could cause epoxy filled crankshafts to delaminate, and I wouldnt risk that, so I went back to Monkey-Snot.
But in engines with regular crankshaft - no problems, and on O-rings in the carb. No problems.

What's an epoxy filled crankshaft and how do you know if your engine has one?

I'm officially confused. I've been reading, and some people say WD40 is fine, others say never use it. Some people say put ARO in both the carb and the glow plug hole, some say only put it in the carb because you will wear out the glow plug hole or something, some say only put it in the glow plug hole because you will screw up your O-Rings in your carb.

Have an os speed with silicone filled crank and the only aro I like to use is the gmk. I would not trust my 500 buck mill to wd40. ARO only.

You know, me to
However, nver had any problems using WD40 on any of my other engines. After running in snowy conditions I used to fill them up completely with WD40, and my Nosram/LRP .28 ran flawlessly for 13 gallons, without bearing exchange nor conrod exchange.
