You will need to replace the whole thing: piston sleeve and rod. The last time i checked Amain has a few parts left
And yes +1 on what Token said, you will need to replace all 3 things. |
yeah...thats what i knew. although the sleeve is perfect and i have a new rod. just need a piston...

your not going to find just the piston from any dealer... maybe ebay |
is it possible to find a replacement from a different engine with same stroke/bore? the skirts shiny and new. the rod is perfect too. if i have to il toss this thing but i figure theres got to be a piston i can throw in there for a couple gallons..

i would not suggest it.

pistons and sleeves are matched at the factory. they need to be replaced together and broken in together.
|
just buy the piston and sleeve and sell or use the sleeve as a replacement
|
Keep the rod. USe it during the break in of the new piston/sleeve and then replace. Once the engine gets tired. Replace the bearings and send the piston and sleeve out to a place like OS Rocket and use that rod again for the breakin again.
