During my last visit to hobby shop I was advised to get a few different glow plugs, hot medium and cold. Ive never herd of diff. temp glow plugs, how do you judge when to use what glow plug?

I live in melbourne and the temp changes here are pretty dramatic. During winter its usually 12 degrees during the day, constant, doesnt get much colder than that during the day. During summer it can get into the low 40's but usually high twenties early thirties.

You know, I had to look twice at your post. I was thinking...damn, there's no way Australia can only be 40 deg. in the summer! Then I realized...it's Celsius.

lhs advice is always good, not. usually the higher the nitro the colder the plug. hotter plugs are easier to tune but cold plugs give the best over all performance. every time you switch plugs now hotter or colder you have to re-tune the motor. next time just get 2 of the same medium plugs with every gallon of fuel you buy and experiment later.

so the temp of glow plug has nothing to do with the outside temp? its more to do with tuning
