kk wut do you recommend for those brands...?

Already reccomended the losi 2.0 RTR twice.

As for the shocks, the losi uses screw on bottom caps to prevent that. The only thing I can think of is bleeding. How are you bleeding your shocks? Also, are you lubricating the O-rings with a grease such as GMK shock snot or AE green slime? Might help.

I think If I was just starting out again I'd lean towards a Cen Matrix R2.You can pick them up NIB for $250-$300...they have the strongest servos of any RTR.
There was a review of them on here a couple of days ago

Problem with that is parts support, and the lack of a 2.4 gig radio system. And even the lack of a starter box. The losi RTR is actually the best deal when you break it all down. The price seems high at first, but for what you get it's a great deal.

You get what you pay for. You wanna have issues, go cheap. You wanna get something that is a capable racer, a tough car, and will last you through many races you will have to pay for it. The AE is a good option too, but not as good as the losi IMO.

BTW when it's in your cart, it drops to $650 and you can use these discount codes to save some more money...

or quit being a lemming and get something like a TQ or a Caster.....

It is sort of nice when the company knows your name AND you can do very well at the track....

He is right, you do get what you pay for....full page ads in all the magazines, team drivers who are paid six figures, etc.....

Other than that, I would disagree on "you get what you pay for" to a certain extent...But there are things like ebay specials that should be avoided.

I guess those Losi and Mugen drivers I was beating a couple of years ago with My Sportwerks Turmoil just didn't spend enough huh?

You do have a Mugen now correct(it's in your sig)? If so, why did you upgrade from the Turmoil to the Mugen? Reason probably proves my point.

You could also look at the O'Donnell Buggy. They have great customer support and at 450 on Amain is one of the least expensive kits out right now. It's a serious racer and is awesome on the track. If your not willing to spend 700 dollars on your buggy your prolly not gonna have a very good quality car. You'll break stuff easily, and spend money to get it fixed. I bought my first buggy, (OD Z01-B) and bought a quality motor, servo's and starter box. I haven't had any problems with it at all. Most of the 400 to 700 dollar kits out there are very competent racers. All have their issues but will compete any day of the week. When it comes down to it, it's all about preference, and how much your willing to spend on fixing your buggy!

+1 on Caster. Didn't give them a chance (or heard of them) until someone brought one to the track. Quality car and very good on the track. Just not marketed as much as the other brands.
