Default Engine for Truggy? What's best?

I am getting into the truggy scene and was wondering what the best route for engine. .21, .28 or bigger?

I am a little partial to RB because of availability to me, but I am open to brands.

Some said to stay with .21 for fuel consumption. Just looking for some seasoned input. Thanks

You know you have opend the flood gates on this one - I run a Losi 8T 2.0 with a OS vspec and/or a Ninja JX 21. I would suggest one of the 2. The Ninja is a stronger, but the vspec is smoother and gets a few more sec of run time.

I ran the OS 28 last year and it SUCKS big time. Fuel time SUCKS and its just to much for a "race" day. Just to much motor for a track...... Look at all the pros except one, they run 21's - RBs are great just $$$$$

+1

Stick with .21 if you are racing. OS V-spec will get the job done!

Sorry to say this. I don't like RB. I had a lot of tuning issues with it.

I like OS and NovaRossi. OS VZB is always nice, but NovaRossi toro Nero is just simply amazing.

The V-spec is a good truggy engine but I really like the Orion US spec engine. It has more power than the V-spec but a little less mileage but I still get over 12 min on a tank.

OS Speed WC II best engine on the planet. Pricy but worth it. And if you use the coupon code FPJUL925 you get 25 bucks off. No other engine even comes close to technology and performance.

all above are good. depends how much your willing to dish out$... for the money and done right the 21-4 is impressive. the speed is ultra smooth and might just be ultimate but then again about $400(with smart shopping)is overspending when you can have either a vspec or ninja which are close to as impressive for $100-150 less. all the above are just awsome when done right. but when it comes down to it the +4 simply trumps all from price to performance. smooth and great power all around. and i prefer rb but just too pricey compared to $300(when engines bought smart shopping)

RB's are great engine but of course it cost so much more. I have a C5 which have run probably about 10 gallons and its still running well. I've just got an Axerossi Mamba for the Hyper ST Pro.Its much cheaper then the RB's but it has plenty of torque for a 21sz engine.Takes quite a while to run in the engine...but the patience is really worth..

Hahahahahahahahaha

I love the 12min plus per tank I run a Vspec with the 8mm restrictor and get 11 mins @ 220 - put your tank spacer back in. Where Im at we have ALOT of 100% sponsored pros, running NINJA, OS SPEED, RB, NOVA, and DYNAMITE engines. These are the guys that go the the invite classes - they were just at WORLDS - point is I have never seen them get 12 min per tank. The OS Speed was coming in at 8:30 - 9 mins and when he came it e could not make it another 3 mins, The RB is coming in at 7:30 - 8 so is the Ninja and the Dynamite was about 7 - 7:30.

The Nova +4 or Toro just dont have to low eng grunt to handle the tracks here. I was told that Novas just dont have that grunt - this is from a nova rep.

To the guys that say he dont like RB because of tuning issues - i agree - But they are hard to tune. i dont touch mine - if i run that enging then i have the RB sponsored racer do it.

the OS Speed is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and you NEED to get the tune pipe that goes with it. I would not pay 600 for a engine and get a janky ass $60 pipe for it.

FACTS not fiction - the times listed above was just this past Sautrday and it was 100 degrees out there.

my 2 cents plus I do have one of each
