Hi wonder if the experts can help me out here as i'm a complete novice about these things.

Once I start the engine while holding it up in the air, the wheels spin, which i know you trim the throttle down which i have done, however once i put it on the floor and the wheels are forced to stop spinning, the engine cuts out... Ive changed the settings on the throttle trim, but it always cuts out once i put it down

Any ideas how to resolve this?

Stupid question again.... how can i check if the clutch is free?

Take the engine out, or you can just take the center diff/spur gear out and spin the clutch bell. It should not hang up on anything and it should spin smooth.

Well it spins freely when the wheels are off the ground, but if the two front and back left hand side wheels are on the ground it locks..

Is that a good thing or bad?

take the motor out and spin the clutch, that is how you check it. If it spins with wheels in the air but not on the ground, it might be stuck, thus your issue

of course it will spin in the air, once you put the wheels on the ground your adding restiance

oops, brain fart in how that came out..

I meant to say, on the ground if the clutch is not stuck the car should roll back and fourth freely, no?

Take the engine out..Take you clutch bell off and check to make sure you clutch springs are not broken or wore out...How long has it been since you changed your clutch shoes and springs

should be yr engine clutch binding...listen to the guys' advise, remove engine and spin yr bell to check at least.

best would be to strip the clutch and rebuild.
