to be honest - a reciever pack is a receiver pack - I use a 2500mah pack and it last all day.

as for a starter box a 14.4V if you look on amain they have several ones geared just for the starter box

I use the Losi lipos and have one comman sense lipo -Practice pack

THE MBX6 ONLY TAKES STICK PACKS. SO THE HIGHEST I CAN GET IS A 1700MAH AND IT ONLY LASTS ME 30 MIN MAX. THE ACE 1015 DRAWS MORE THAN A NORMAL SERVO.

You will have others tell you that the chepo lipos are just fine. I have seen the destruction a faulty lipo can do so I would rather stick with the name brands. I sleep better at night knowing that I paid for QC.

For a charger there is none better than the hyperion series. If you are patient then the 606 will work just fine. If you need to charge 2 batteries at the same time then the 610 duo is the way to go but you will also need a power supply. I would reccomend getting 2 hyperion 606 chargers. These chargers will also balance charge which is very important to lipo life. Just make sure you also purchase the correct balance port adapter so you can balance charge.

For battery packs the receiver battery will take any lipo stick pack will work look for 2000+ mah and you will be fine. I know protek has a new stick type pack that will also work in the M11 transmitter. For the starter box you want a 4s 14.8v 2000+mah that is at least 15c, (20c is better).

Personally I use the hyperion 606 and a losi 4s 2200 lipo for the starter box. The 4s will last a 2 day event with no prob.

Here are are some links to these products. I hope this helps.

Hyperion 606

Protek stick pack

Losi 4s 14.8v starter box battery

Protek 14.8 starter box battery

HT Batteries 14.8 starter box battery

Hi Josh. If your 1500mAh battery is lasting only 30 minutes, it needs to be replaced. You don't need to go to LiPo to get 1-2 hours out of a nimh pack.

I left my car on overnight last week and I showed the LiPo battery to your dad. It's puffed and ruined. $40 gone.

I'm invested in LiPo and I'll stick with it. But, consider that LiPo is an additional and more expensive responsibility.

Whats up halfman? Like mark said, if you are only getting 30 mins out of a 1500 nicd or even nimh pack the battery has a dead cell or something is wrong. I took the lipo leap for several reasons. My transmitter for example, it is lighter and I get way more runtime than with larger nimh batteries. The 3pk eats batteries. On my buggy the same results, can shed and ounce or 2 from the car depending on which pack I use, more runtime, boost in speed and torque for my servos because I choose to run unregulated. My starter box. I have a single 4s 4000 mah lipo, lighter than 2 stick packs for sure, and way stronger. I find that I dont have to keep up charging batteries as much which gives me more time on the track and behind the wheel. Just get a good charger, preferably a balance charger and you will be good. The biggest mistakes on a lipo is running it to low or over charging it. Once again avoid this and you should be fine. I run the apogee packs in my mugen. They make good batteries and happen to have a real good price on a stick pack for the car. I have put a link to the pack I use.
