Default Lipo Charger for 4s

Im looking into going lipo, I have a orion carbon charger at the moment but it want charge 4s. I saw this guy at the track that was charging like 3 rx packs at one time. I think it was an hyperion. Can someone give me some info on the possible model num that would charge more than 1 rx pack at a time. Also, what other models have these capabilities? Thanks in advance.

mrc superbrain 989 will charge 1-8 cell lipo but will not charge more than one pack. Ive never had an instance to need that feature though.

I'm in the same boat. The orion carbo will only do 2s. I want to go lipo in my starter boxes at 4s as well. And I would LOVE to be able to charge 2 or more rx packs at once. Until I go LifePo that is

The MRC chargers are great chargers. I have one from the mid 80's for nicad packs that still works great and a newer superbrain 977 that I purchased last year. The 989 is a good charger but it will not balance charge without additional equipment. Last year I purchased a hyperion 606 and I absolutely love it. It is quiet and charges any and all of my nitro related needs. I like the cycle function too. When I charge my glow ignitors on the 977 the meter only reads about 1/2. When I use the hyperion it goes all the way up. I thought the meters on the glow ignitors were off until I used the hyperion. The 606 is a great little charger for the money and it will balance charge which is very important for lipo charging. Heres a link

Thanks bro. How do you charge glow ignitors on a charger? So can you charge more than 1 pack at a time with the hyperion? THe reason I like the feature of being able to charge more than one pack is b/c I run two classes so I have 2 vehicles to charge rx packs, and then on top of that I have 2 starter boxes. Plus I only like to buy things once, if I can get the charger with those capabilities, I figure I want have to buy another charger for awhile.

Hyperion 606 will only charge one pack at a time. If you want to charge 2 then get a hyperion 610 duo (you will need a power supply too) Or just get 2 hyperion 606's. The 610 is the only single charger that I know of that will charge 2 4s lipo packs at the same time.

i use the Poly Max lipo charger. its identical to the one Losi sells. this one here: http://cgi.ebay.com/Poli-max-RC-Lipo...item20af2b1ce3

it does 1-6 lipo, 1-15 nimh/nicd, and 2-20v lead acid

or heres another one thats basically the same as the poly max, but it can charge 4 things at once. its the iMax Quattro: http://cgi.ebay.com/IMAX-Quattro-B6-...item3ef6476e91

Will this charger be able to charger 4S? I'm new to the lipo thing so I am not sure where to find this in the description. I heard this is a great charger for receiver packs and life packs:

http://www.hobbypartz.com/thac6smbachw.html

Also, what about the Venom Pro, will that charger 4S? I am looking for a charger for my receiver packs, but at the same time, I want something that can charge more than just that in case I switch to electric ever in the future.

The top charger will charge up to 6 cel. Personally I would stay away from the Venom pro charger I have a buddy that I race with and his is already toast.

Thanks for the advise Frank. Here's a noob question. Does the 4S refer to the number of cells then (4 cells)? And in turn does that mean that the Thunder A6 charger will charge 6S since it charges up to 6 cells?

Hyperion and Never look back.

the S refers to the cell count yes.

Having a high count is a moot point if you dont have the wattage to back it up.
