i seam to be loosing clutch bearings left and right.

i have a XTM truggie, and ive had to change 2 bearings so far. ive caught them fairly soon, but i think my mistake was only changing 1 at a time, instead of them as a pair.

they're 10 bucks a pair, but if i could get a set of quality bearings for twice the price, im sold.

are these common bearings? i have a feeling XTM might not be putting all their R&D into these bearings, or cheap quality..

make sure you leave a little front to back play in the clutch bell...

the only time I dont use the dollar bearings is for a 40+ min Main

there is alittle play, and im dead on the washer spacing. book recommends 1 washer on clutch shoes. then 1st flanged bearing. bell housings, then 2nd flanged bearing. and 2 more washers, then button head bolt.

now.. once a bearing takes a dump, is it recommended to change both bearings? i would think the odd stress of 1 bearings falling apart would damage the good one.

the 1st time i lost a bearing was because my bell housing bolt broke. the inner bearing fell apart. so i changed only that one. since then the other original bearing fell apart. so should they be changed in sets?

Avids quality is well worth the buck a piece, never had any problems with them I also use there phenolic brakes which work amazing as well. A++ company. I always replace both bearing even when you dont think the other is bad. Its best to replace both and finish the race then not too and say dam should have replaced both.

Avid bearings have never failed me and honestly doubt they will. I know with priority mail shipping I always have them in 2 days like clockwork! I'm in Mississippi and it's not that far of a trip. So, I'd say pretty good chance you will have them this week! Good luck!
