Default Servo problem?!?...help??

I went to the track this morning cut my receiver and radio on and checked my steering and throttle like always. Well throttle was fine but the steering you'd turn the wheel and the wheels would kind of just start "bouncing" when it's on starter box, of course on the ground it didn't do this. I got about 3 laps in and all of a sudden no steering, picked the buggy up turned the wheel and all it was, was a high pitched squeel. No movement, nothing! Are the gears stripped or maybe the board in the servo gone bad? It's an associated xp ds1015 digital servo. Any help I'd appreciate it!

The high pitched noise, is it like the typical servo motor noise or a high pitched squeal?

I had 2 DS1313's go bad, took them apart and nothing was wrong internally, they just died.

Get rid of it and go Hitec 7955, you will never regret it.

More of a high pitched squeel. I'm gonna use a 1313 for the time being until payday. But I'd still like to know what happened

there's soo many area's a Ace/AE servo can fail...with out seeing it in person or having you pull the top case to inspect...its pretty hard to tell you exactly what happened..but i can tell you its time for a replacement.

Default Hi-Tec

Hi-tec. Just replaced my JR steering servo that came in my RTR 8ight-T 1.0 with a HS-985MG. I also replaced the throttle servo with a Hi-tec HS-645MG. Cost me about $120.00 for both. I am very pleased with how they perform. I kept the stockers for a track back-up in case one takes a shit. At least I'll be able to finish the races. To do it all over again I would have bought a roller. Since I bought my 8ight-t 1.0 I have replaced both servos, both shock towers, the engine (with a JPFX B5N) and plan to put a new Spektrum radio system in it.
