Trying to understand Clutch shoe springs better
Hello all,
I have a couple of questions:
1) Do we use the same springs for clutch shoes if the RC uses 2, 3, or 4 shoes or are the springs different to account for the different number of shoes?
2) How many different types of springs are available? Is spring tension the only difference between the various springs.
3) Why would someone use the various springs?
4) Is there a kit or box available that contains the various available springs so I can play around with them?
5) Do springs lose their tension over time? If so, how many gallons does it typically take?
Thanks a lot.

Q & A
1) Do we use the same springs for clutch shoes if the RC uses 2, 3, or 4 shoes or are the springs different to account for the different number of shoes?
A) No, there is different types of springs for every application
2) How many different types of springs are available? Is spring tension the only difference between the various springs.
A) No, Most springs are shaped differently from manufacturer to manufacturer, some with work with other brands as far as tension and spring height, but to be safe it's best to use the same manufacture for all your clutch parts, unless it's aftermarket shoes and springs designed to work with your OEM flywheel and Nut.
3) Why would someone use the various springs?
A) The springs are used to adjust the stall in the clutch. In other words.. they adjust when and how hard the shoes open for engagement as engine RPM's increase
4) Is there a kit or box available that contains the various available springs so I can play around with them?
A) Yes www.M2CRacing.com
5) Do springs lose their tension over time? If so, how many gallons does it typically take?
A) yes but every manufacturer it's different.
