I have seen rootbeer used to help the track stick together. It works too.

Yeah, I heard about some tracks using soda. The smell comment worries me a little. It's winter hear in Australia, so flies wont be a problem at the moment.

WATER WATER WATER - Im in CO and we have a massive amount of clay here - WATER WATER WATER - its better for the track - NO SUGAR - those things just kills tires are chassises. I think we have 4 big tracks here and only one uses thoes agents to "maintain" and all the racers here hate it. The other 3 tracks uses WATER and only WATER - no tire wear, no gashes in the chassis, no rocks getting stuck in the fly wheel. Track are going to ware (hum is it wear or ware?) out. Thats y if you look at tracks here in the US how many times a year to the layout change. Not becasue its boring, no its becasue it BLOWED OUT son.

This is just my opinion, I have some track building experience, Im no Joey but the best 1/8 scale track just uses WATER

The only time I see rootbeer used is on OnRoad courses

On Sunday, we did a sweep in the morning before starting & a thorough sweep of the whole track mid way through the day. I went & checked the surface after a few races after the second sweep & was quite shocked at the level of wear (new powder) on the track. I know we've had a lot of rain lately, so the track isn't hard baked, & that will contribute to the wear. But if we can do things to help maintain the surface, I think it is worth investigating. Deno & I stayed back on Sunday & rerolled the fixed section after the quad & it was incredible just how much powder there was in just that small area to sweep over the soft section, & sweeping itself, was creating more powder. At that rate, the track will be in very bad shape within 6 months.
This is all just me talking. None of this is official. I'm just collecting as much expert (hopefully) information as I can, to present & make some informed decisions.
Rather than take this thread off topic, PM me (on our site) the details of what your referring to with the "covered pit area" &/or any other concern you have. I'll see what I can do buddy.

Pete.
I own a track too.(black top soil) What and how do you sweep the track?

What is the ratio for sugar mix?

I own a skidloader and change the layout often but broke the hardpack with tires every time steering. I can't use the bobcat for remove the outer corner moist but damage to the surface.

Right now I watering the whole track every thursday night before races.

(Excuse my english)
