Throttle servo will open carb but refuses to brake.
My throttle servo will control the throttle smoothly, but when I push the trigger forward to break it barely moves at all, and there is only a slight resistance in the wheels. The car is pretty much brand new, and its and OFNA Hyper 8 rtr kit.

If your end point adjustment is good & batterys are good check the servo. RTRs are not known for the best servos & sometimes the plastic servo splines will strip on the servo horn.Sounds like low voltage in batts though,if you can check a rechargable batt should be at 7V or above right after charging.

Possibly. I'm thinking of a Lipo reciever pack just because Rechargeable AAs have really low voltage and run out within a day or two of driving. I'll be looking into those assuming they aren't too expensive.

Don't forget that with a Lipo pack you would almost certainly need a regulator.
Sickman makes excellent NiMh receiver packs, and the 2500 mah lasts at least a week of bashing for me, and I run about an hour a day. And according to my Nomadio React, it never even comes close to dying.

A couple hours MAX is all you'll get out of the standard 2/3A rechargable reciever packs. 4-ish hours MAX from the larger AA rechargable packs & normal voltage for all nimh rechargable batts is 1.2V per cell not 1.5 like alkaline batts.Lipo is a different story with different concerns. You might want to stick with nimh for a while till your ready to deal with the other things that go along with lipo.
Just going out & running till your batts die is not the way this hobby works. Expect to charge every day before you take the car out.That is the habbit that all RC racers use. 9lbs car @ 35mph & batts die = more problems than you want to deal with.

I recharged the pack and its doing better. Its not excellent but its getting there.
