Hey All,
Just curious what everyone is using to polish up their pipes (chromed pipes) and rid them of all grime and gunk.

I use mother's chrome polish. Gets the pipe nice an shiny again.
I also clean the pipe after every race day to prevent dirt from being baked onto the pipe.

+1 on the steel wool. Takes a little bit of elbow grease if it's baked on but eventually it does come off.

If you can get your hands on a crock pot...Fill it with pure anti-freeze and boil the pipe overnight. It will come out real nice inside and out. If you keep up on it your pipes will look and perform like new...When you open the crock pot it will steam alot, so do that part outside. If you want to keep it shinny between runs, Mothers aluminum polish works great.

I just used this method on my polished AE FT 2035 and WOW. My pipe had 2.5gallons of use on it, with lots of stuff baked on, looked terrible, header was almost completely black on one side. Went over the BigLots and got a crockpot for $19 and got a gallon of antifreeze, boiled overnight. Went out this morning, emptied the AF out of the pipe and header, cleaned with simple green and then polished with mothers mag/alum polish. I wish i would have taken pictures of it b4, but here is the after:

Glad you like it. Everyone that has tried it can't believe it. I havn't bought new pipes for a while because they keep comming out brand new. Watch out with anodized pipes. I've had mixed results. Sometimes they come out fine and sometimes it takes the anodizing off.

1)Wear rubber gloves.
2)Take the pipe outside, put it on a old peice of cardboard.
3)Spray EASY-OFF oven cleaner all over it inside & out.
4)Wait about 20 minutes.
5)Hose it off with the garden hose.

If it's real thick you may have to do the above 2 times.

6)Throw away the cardboard.

DO NOT DO THIS WITH A HARD COATED PIPE (the easy-off will eat off the coating).
