Default 8ight buggy engine

Ok putting a losi 8ight back together and wanting to see which GRP engine to drop in it. And if they are direct replacements. I know I will buy an exhaust and such just looking to see if the mounts are the same. I have the Mach 427 now but it doesnt seem to have much power may be worn out.

I would stay far away from GRP. There factory "accidentally" burned down. They will no longer be making engines or engine parts. This means no replacement parts for your engine, other than what is currently in stores. I was never a GRP fan anyway.

I would look to engines such as the os v-spec, Mugen JX ninja, novarossi plus 4, etc... All of which are just as fast as the GRP's if not faster, and parts are easy to find.

If that Mach 427 was the shaft start type on a 8RTR the original 8 RTR then the engine mount is different. Make sure it has the kit engine mount the smaller two piece mount.
