Well i asked this in the thread about a good steering servo, didnt get to many replies which is fair enough.

Have decided on the Hitec 7955 for a steering servo, just wondering what a good throttle servo would be? And should i stick to one brand for both? dont want to spend a huge amount of cash on the throttle if possible.

This is one of the things you wouldn't want to skimp on. Keep in mind that this throttle servo controls your 200-500 dollar motor. I'd say it's up to you, but I seen a local try one of those old JR 650M's in their truck because the shop of was out of high speed servos and he ended up having a run away and blew his new Vspec motor. While that doesn't mean that all afordable servos will fail, it's up to you. Good luck.

Is a good servo. Basically the brushless one of what I run. I have run futaba throttle servos and hitec steering servos for some time. I love the futaba's because of how smooth they are, and they have heald up fine for throttle. Steering, I won't trust anything other than hitec TG servos. 7955 is a monster of a servo. A lot of guys run them for throttle too. If you want to stick with a hitec for throttle too, this is a good servo.

yeah i realise that i will have to spend a decent amount on the throttle, was just hoping there would be options out there (reliable ones) that didnt bare the price of the 7955 so 20 - 30 less. ah well guess not had to get hooked on an expensive hobby lol

+1 for the BLS line of servos. I also run Hitec TG for steering and futaba bls451 for throttle. I really like them since they are so quiet. If you get a bls servo you can go unregulated to get more torque and speed without burning them up.

How about the ACE DS1313. I have ran the ACE DS1313 in the past with excellent results I believe transit is about .12 & torque 175 oz. and they run under $75.00. Currently I have been running the Ace ds1015 servo's for steering and throttle with out even the smallest problem. I believe transit is .10 and torque is just over 200 oz. for $ 95.00. I also run the JR 9100S & 9100t servo's and the Ace servo's are so fast I have to slow them down for steering.

I believe for under $100 you will be impressed.

I like the new hitec series. The servos are good, and their warranty and service is top notch. I also trust futaba alot too.

I was going to reccomend the 451, but it's not really much if any cheaper than a 7955. He was looking for something decent and cheaper. The 452 is that.

I didn't see that he was looking for a less expensive servo. I gotta learn to read slower.

For $75 it's a good deal.

I would not trust my 2k buggy to an ace/ ae servo, remember that the throttle servo can cause a runaway blow up that expensive mill and destroy that nice expensive toy car. Hitec 7965 if you want a fast servo or 7985 if you don't mind it being a little slower you can pick up either for around 95 bucks. Jr 9100's aren't bad but they are expensive, I think the hitec are better quality anyway. Well that's m 2 cents.

I use hyperion digital servos. My LHS got me hooked on them. For $50 Im not sure you can beat them. They come in high speed and high torque.

For more of a budget option, you can also consider the hitec 5625MG servo. Reasonable speed and torque, and it's not going to break the bank.

FRANK L have you had problems with the Ace servo's. QUITE A few guys I know run ACE servo's with out issue.

yes i would prefer not to have to pull out a huge roll of cash for the throttle servo, but if its what i need to do then thats fine, just thought there might be some cheaper options.

A jr 4800t would be more then enough, there around $75 on a-main.
