Default recommended tires for Traxxas Rustler 2.5

Im a newbie and have bought a nitro rustler 2.5 for my son and I to begin our RC journey together. What are the thoughts on the stock tires that come with it and what are some recommendations on replacement tires for it? thanks

What are you doing with it? Racing? Bashing? Pavement? Dirt? I would look in to PROLINE TIRES, that have tires for everything.

mostly backyard bashing, but they have built a new dirt track near by that Im sure we will take advantage of too...

Cool a new track, make sure you get some others involved so theres enough of you 10th guys to race........

Im definitely a ways off from being a racer, but the dirt hawg II you recommended looks to be my best bet for now. Any opinion on the stock tires out of the box?

umm there ok I think for what your doing with it. But these are nitro power - you will be replacing tires all the time. And once you race, its more. But tires really depend on your prefrerence and your driving style. Some would use bowties, some crimefighter. It really depends on what you like. For backyard stuff, I would reccomend the harderst compund they have.

Just take a look around the Proline website and read all that stuff, they do a good job with charts explaining whats what.
