Torsen center diff
Hey folks, are any of you running a Torsen diff? I picked one up in a trade, and I need to know what exactly I do to lubricate it. It goes together differently than a regular diff with a metal sleeve that slides over the gear housing and only seals by a couple of o-rings. Am I supposed to fill it with diff fluid? Oil?
I've never worked with one of these before. It's silky smooth, but MAN is it a pain to disassemble. I had to tear it completely down to change bearings.

Torsen and smart diffs use grease not oil. the losi diff grease should work fine in it. I would make sure that the grease fills the entire diff. Just greasing the parts usually does not work as with centrifugal force. It will sling the grease to the outside of the diff housing neglecting the gears. I fill my smart diffs up and check them after a gallon they were fine. There was noticeably less grease in the diff but more than enough to keep it well lubricated. However as with the previous poster I would check with OFNA.

The old Fioroni Hyper Traction torsen diffs used oil instead of grease. The OFNA diff he has might be one of the older models which if memory serves me correct, looked a lot like the Hyper Traction diffs. Otherwise most if not all of the more recent torsen diffs use grease. The type of grease varies though, so even if the OFNA diff uses grease, there might be a specific grease recommended by OFNA.
