hello. i have the futaba 3pm 2.4ghz radio. i am using futaba digital coreless servos. last week i ran all day with the new servo. right at the end. it fried. today i bought a new servo. futaba digital coreless. and again. fried it right after the 15 minute a-main. does anyone know whats going on? thanks for any help!!

Are you properly setting the EPA? If you don't set the end points the servo will try to turn the wheels (or move the throttle) further than it is physically able to go. That causes a lot of strain on a servo motor and it breaks pretty quick.

Try it? As in you werent setting the EPA before??? If that's the case, I'm surprised the servos are lasting 2 minutes, let alone 15. EPA and linkage setup is the biggest reason for servo failure.

I usually reduce the servo EPA to way less than full throw on steering both left and right, then turn the wheel on the transmitter all the way and increase the EPA right until the wheels hit maximum throw. Then bring them back a few degrees from max. Seems to work for me.

also dont know if any of you have used them but the hyperion digital servos rock. I have them in my revo and love it.

I recently had a problem in my 8T 2.0 blowing the throttle servo over and over. One race day I lost 2 in the same day. The epa was good but the servo was hitting the lip on the mud guard causing it to slam and eventually go out. I shaved the mud guard and so far a practice day and a race day on it with out any problems. Check to make sure that the servo case has plenty of clearance as these chassis do flex. Also make sure the throttle linkage is not binding. You should be able to move the card all the way open with the servo not moving by pulling on the end of it. If the action does not feel smooth then adjust where the ball cup is so that the arm is level and works smoothly.

Agreed. That's what I've done and I've never had any major servo problems. The maximum angle on my steering is actually an EPA that exceeds what my radio considers 100%. Seems odd, but it works.
